March is a great time to get planting! March is slowly starting to warm up and the days are getting longer which makes it the perfect time to start getting out into the garden.

The garden centre has been a hive of activity the last couple of weeks. We have been pruning our roses and rebuilding our rotten raised beds in the shrub section in anticipation of many shrubs to come ready for you to plant in March. Plants are arriving weekly, and the garden centre is looking quite full. Trees, shrubs, fruit, climbers, summer flowering bulbs and more are ideal to plant in March.

Grow your own

Growing fruit, veg and herbs is a lot easier and cheaper than many think. We have a wide selection of seeds in stock to get you started. With the current veg shortages in the supermarkets now is a greater time than ever to get started. Veg such as lettuces, radish, tomatoes, beetroot and cucumbers are ideal for the first-time growers. We also have garlic bulbs, onion sets, shallots and seed potatoes which are all ready for planting. Fruit tree and bushes are now available as well as Rhubarb and bare root Raspberries. Strawberry plants have arrived! £2.49 each or 5 for £10

Perennials to plant in March

The perennial section is full to the brim with garden possibilities. Many of our 1ltr perennials are £4.49 each and now any 3 for £12. Hellebores are in bloom and looking fab and the ferns are all looking very lush. Chinese peonies (peonia lactifolia) have begun to sprout and look great in pots or in the border. If you really feel like treating yourself, we have a 5ft tree fern available.

Shrubs are looking fab
