Cacti and Succulents
Cacti and Succulents are low-maintenance houseplants for a bright and sunny spot in the home. These quirky-looking plants are the ideal starter plant for children. Cacti and Succulents come in many different forms. Slender leaves, Rounded leaves, Spikes, Hairs, and even flowers.

Haworthia fasciata
Native to arid deserts of Africa. This makes them low-maintenance houseplants. To keep this plant happy you need to replicate their natural habitat. Keep in a sunny spot, plant into a free-draining soil (Cacti compost), and water sparingly. Give Haworthia a good soak of water and then allow them to completely dry out before watering again.

Aloe vera
Also known as the First Aid Plant, Aloe vera has medicinal properties and can help heal burns, Skin irritations, and insect bites. Native to hot Caribbean islands, Aloe also prefers a hot and sunny spot in the home. Water sparingly and allow the soil to dry out before watering again. Remember that Aloes store water in their leaves so they do not need watering like most other houseplants. Allow the plant to become pot-bound before repotting.

Crassula
Crassula is a large family of succulents. They come in many different appearances. Small Creeping varieties to large tree-like ones. Again…Keep these succulents in full sun, free-draining soil, and water sparingly.
Indoor Ferns
Ferns are the perfect houseplants for areas of the home without direct sun. They will happily grow in a bright spot but they do very well in lower light levels.

Asparagus Ferns
Asparagus ferns have fine and delicate foliage that is soft to the touch. They can be grown as a hanging houseplant or a climbing houseplant in a shaded spot. Water asparagus ferns regularly and keep them well misted. Never allow the Asparagus fern to dry out.

Birdsnest Fern
These Aspeniums are unlike most other ferns. Rather than having finely directed leaves, this fern has long flat leaves with a ruffled edge. They are easier to look after than most other ferns. They can tolerate a sunnier spot as-long as they are kept well watered.

Maidenhair Fern
Maidenhair ferns have beautifully delicate leaves. The bright green leaves and almost black stems have a cascading effect. Although beautiful they can be divas. They must be kept in a shady and cool spot in the home. Keep moist at all times. Misting regularly is a must. This is the ideal plant for a bathroom.
Houseplants for Hanging
Many houseplants have a trailing or creeping habit that makes them ideal for growing in a hanging pot. You will never run out of space for houseplants if you start hanging them up. Just don’t forget that you have to get them down to be watered.

Tradescantia
Tradescantia is the ideal plant for growing in hanging pots. They have colourful foliage, pretty flowers, and they catch the light. They are best grown in a bright spot but away from direct-light. Water weekly and mist when possible. Tradescantia can also be grown in a pot on a shelf.

Pothos
Pothos is a collective name for many plants in the Epipremnum or Scindapus family. They all have beautiful foliage which can either trail down from a hanging pot or they can be trained to climb up. They are great for growing in a bright spot that is away from direct sun. Water weekly.

String of Hearts
Ceropegia is easy to look after and looks stunning. They easily grow long training vines so they’re perfect for hanging pots or a pot on a high shelf. They are best grown in a bright spot but out of direct sun. Give them a good soak of water and then allow them to fully dry out before watering again.
