Ames Garden Tools
Ames has produced shovels and other garden tools in America since 1774, originally for gold mining and agricultural industry. It made sense for them to move into hand tools for the home gardener. Rubber grip handles for comfort, FSC-certified ash wood shaft, and high-quality carbon steel.
Spades and Shovels
Ames has a selection of spades and shovels for a variety of uses.
Border spades are ideal for digging over the border and preparing the ground for planting or transplanting. The planting spade is narrow and long, making it ideal for digging deep and precise planting holes. The pointed shovel is suited to digging over and planting in compact and harder soils.
Garden Forks
The Ames digging fork is perfect for digging over the border and moving plants with large root systems. The border fork is narrower than the digging fork. It is perfect for weeding and digging between established plants in the border.

The Secret Garden has everything you need to create and maintain the perfect lawn. The half-moon lawn edger will help you to cut an even edge to the lawn no, matter if you want a curved edge or a perfectly straight one. We also have a selection of rakes.

Wilkinson Sword gardening tools have been a firm favorite with our loyal customers for many years. The product range is made from quality stainless steel and carbon steel for cutting edge excellence.
Hedging Shears
The Telescopic hedging shears are ideal for tall hedges with hard to reach areas. The 9” Wavy edge hedging shears are designed to be able to grip and cut thicker stems within a hedge. The 10” geared hedging shears create a sharp looking hedge with very little effort due to the gear system.
Loppers
We stock the Wilkinson Sword Bypass lopper, Bypass Geared loppers, and the Telescopic loppers. These loppers will cut through stems upto 4cm in thickness with ease and leaving a clean and crisp cut. (Any large branches should be cut with a pruning saw)
Pruners
The wilkinson Sword RazorCut Pro Angled Head Pruner is a classic design with two opening positions to suit all hand sizes. Extra high quality SK3 Japanese steel blades. Drop forged anodised alluminum handles for extra stregnth and durability.
We also stock the Wilkinson Sword Bypass pruner and the Comfort Ratchet pruner.
Long-Handled Edging Shears
These shears enable the gardener to cut and trim lawn edges and the border without having to bend down. The 85cm long handles withs soft grip are ergonomically designed to reduce strain on the arms and back. Carbon steel blades with non-stick coating.
Telescopic Tree Pruner
This versitile tree pruner will allow you to prune trees and large shrubs with ease. It combines two tools in one with a bypass pruner and a 31cm pruning saw. The telescopic handle extend to 8ft (2.4m). The hardened carbon steel blade also has a non-stick coating.

We use a selection of Wolf Garten tools around the garden centre ourselves. With a little care, these tools last for years. We carry a wide range of Wolf tools such as the extended lopper, interchangeable poles with tool attachments, shears, and secateurs.

Wolf-Garten is our preferred brand of secatuers. You will often see us using them around the garden centre. Soft grip handles, hardwearing blades, and easy to use.
Town & Country Gardening Gloves
Town & Country has a heritage that dates back more than half a century when they started designing and manufacturing leather products. They have been bringing innovation to the garden sector for over 30 years. All of their gloves are designed in the UK and manufactured in close collaboration with a select few factories in the Far East for whom they have worked with for many years.
T&C Premium Leather gloves
Town & Country premium leather gloves and gauntlets are made from ultra-soft leather and suede making them strong enough for all gardening tasks and providing comfort. Leather gives the wearer protection from sharp thorns. The gauntlet also offers protection to the wrists and lower arms. These gloves are best for pruning roses, pulling out brambles, and nettles.
Riggers
These heavy-duty gloves are made from suede making them a good glove for protection. They are good for removing weeds, handling paving, digging, and general gardening. We do not recommend using these for wet tasks or jobs that require more dexterity.
