July is all about maintaining existing plants in the garden and filling in the gaps with flowers that will last through the summer. Echinaceas, Geums, Roses, and Rudbeckia are ideal for this. Grasses and many perennials look their best in July. We are expecting delivery of Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ which is one of our favourites. Forming low mounds of yellow foliage ideal for planting at the edge of a border and path as well as a statement plant in a pot as you may have seen in the garden centre. Rudbeckias, Salvias, and Echinacea’s are in bloom and will carry on well into the late summer.
