Soon you will be getting rid of your Christmas tree and you will find you have much more space than you thought for indoor plants. The new year is the ideal time to invest in new indoor plants. Over the next week we will be transforming the shop from santas grotto into a tropical rainforest.
Schismatoglottis Wallichi
We will be filling the shop up with a huge range of new indoor plants suited to most homes. We will try to ensure that we have something for everyone, such as large leaf tropical plants which love indirect light and high humidity to tiny cacti and succulents which need little more than lots of sunlight. Houseplant pots get a good look in also. With a large delivery due from Elho plastics this week and a an even larger delivery of ceramic houseplant pots due in the next week or so.

Houseplants suffer greatly over the Christmas period. We are often very busy and forget to water our plants. This combined with central heating means that the soil drys out and the leaves of the plant begin to wilt and brown at the tips. Most plants will recover. Give your plants a good watering but avoid letting sit for a long period of time in water. A liitle water and often is better than sitting in water for a long time. Snip off any brown leaves and give your plants a good mist of water every couple of days. Fungus gnats can be a pain at this time also. Spraying with an organic pesticide such as SMC (can be found in the shop) once every two weeks will sort this out.
